How do I know which event will be the best for me?

First off start by clicking through the events and looking at the styles, materials, etc. It is important to consider if you would rather work with a partner/group or alone, if you prefer theoretical debates or evidence-based debates, how much work you are willing to put in, etc. Feel free to stop by practice if you have any additional questions!

When is practice?

Practices are Tuesdays after school in the CHS Media Center. After the competition season ends, practices are every other Tuesday. You can find exact dates for off-season practices and callout information on the Carmel Speech & Debate Instagram.

Can I still join after the season has already started?

Of course! You can join Speech & Debate at any point in the school year. Depending on how far it is into the competition season it is, you may have to do extra work and put in more effort to catch up
